Welcome to the Fishing Report from Townsend, Tennessee in the Great Smoky Mountains. The sun is back.  It is going to be a beautiful weekend to be outside.  

Rain fell last night which was needed to bring water levels up closer to normal.  This morning the gauge on Little River at Townsend is reading 2.10 feet or 228 c.f.s.  The daily normal is 252 c.f.s.  

Water temperatures have been staying stable around 59F.  This is a good fishing temperature.

I didn't get the chance to go look but Middle Prong of Little River (Tremont) might be a little muddy this morning.  Due to the gravel road being there it is a great tendency to cloud up.  It won't last long though and should be clear by the afternoon.

Fishing has been good across the Smokies.  There is a great variety of insects hatching right now.  Colors are becoming lighter, with more Cahills and sulphur mayflies along with yellow stone flies.

Early in the day, anglers have been having their best success with nymph patterns.  Sink a Prince nymph, Tellico or any stonefly pattern.  As it gets later in the day and especially towards evening I would be fishing dry flies.

Will is checking in two large boxes of Wapsi today.  There is still a lot of items that they didn't send.  Fulfillment is an issue that Byron has been wrestling with.  He orders stuff and they only ship what they have.  Getting merchandise to sell has been a challenge both upstairs and downstairs.  Waders are almost impossible to get right now and they won't be available till late Summer or Fall.  I'm thankful we live in an area that is good for wet wading.  

Let's not worry about what we can't get or do.....let's go fishing!!
