Today will be cloudy and breezy with a chance for rain late this afternoon. The high temperature will be around 70 degrees, dropping to the upper 40’s tonight. There is a 100% chance for rain tonight and it will be breezy. The higher elevations in the mountains are under a Wind Advisory today and tonight.

Showers are likely tomorrow with a high in the upper 50’s and a low in the low 30’s.

Sunday will be sunny with a high in the upper 60’s.

Little River is flowing at 299 cubic feet per second (cfs) or 2.18 feet on the gauge. Median flow for this date is 380 cfs. The water temperature is 48.9 degrees this morning.

Streams in the Smokies have receded to normal or below normal flows. Water temperatures are within the trout’s preferred range. If you go fishing in the mountains today, be ready for anything. You may see many species of aquatic insects on the water. Have a good selection of nymphs, dry flies and wet flies in your box. Trout should be actively feeding. Fish in the low elevations where the water is warmer.

Fishing for stocked trout is good. Try nymphs, egg patterns, squirmy worms or steamers.

There are pauses in the generation scheduled at several dams today, giving wade fishing anglers some options. Check the schedules on the TVA website to see what tailwater fishing opportunities you have today.
